How would you feel if you went to IKEA to buy a desk, only to get home and discover that the instruction was not included in the box? Well welcome to motherhood. Being a mother is one of the jobs you do without prior knowledge. No matter how many books you read to prepare, the experience itself is personal. I remember when I was pregnant with my son there was no book about pregnancy and babies I didn't read. I remember my sister laughing at me when I packed my hospital bag and I had a rolling pin ( yes you read that right) in it. I read that the rolling pin can be used to massage the back when in labor, lets just say I never got to use that rolling pin.
So how do you navigate motherhood? I am not an expert, in fact I consider myself a rookie mom. I keep learning everyday, and I grant myself grace on the days I don't feel like I am doing a good job.

Here are some things I live by, may be you can learn a thing or two
Know that you don't have to know it all to be an awesome mom
There will be days you won't feel your best, don't worry there will be better days
You are doing better than you think, I promise
Don't be afraid to ask for help, you'd be surprised who has been waiting for you to ask
Put yourself on your priority list. You can't give from an empty cup, MAKE time to refill your cup
Don't compare yourself to other moms
Be nice to other moms
Grant yourself grace
Your family appreciates what you do even when they don't say it
Pray always and ask God for help. He is the owner, you are the guardian
There you have it, if you have anything to add to this list please comment below. As you celebrate with your loved ones , please take time and say a prayer for those that have lost their moms or child and those aspiring to be moms.
Until next my post, remember you can do ALL things through Christ
Happy mother's day
xx
