If you are a Bible student you might have read psalms 23 at least a once or 264 times . It is a very popular psalms, for starters it has 6 verse. The psalms appears to be unassuming at a glance but it packs a punch.
I wasn’t having the best of days a few weeks ago due to something beyond my control. I prayed about the situation and I was listening to hear back from God ( because prayer is communication) I prayed specific prayers all day and at night as I was doing the dishes the Holy Spirit ministered to me and said “ The answer doesn’t have to be complicated" and I was pondering on that when I heard psalms 23 . To be honest, I gave a side eye saying “ psalms23, with all this issue" then I remembered what the Holy Spirit told me prior to that “the answer doesn’t have to be complicated"
So I opened the Bible app and I read psalms 23, and this time I read it in 3 different versions . I usually read NLT but went further and read it in AMPC and Message and the revelation I got shocked me. Not only was it what I needed it gave me specific instructions on what to do.
So here is the breakdown of Paslm 23 to me
King James Version ( My interpretation is italizied ) 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. ( If I let God lead me I will have all that I need) 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.( True rest can only be found in God) 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.(Strength can be renewed , just ask Jesus) 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.(Tough times will come, but I won’t be scared because Jesus is next to me to protect and tell me everything will be alright ) 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. (I live in abundance because Jesus is my sufficiency) 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. ( Without any doubt God’s blessings will abide with me always as long as I am in God’s presence)
So here is what I call Psalms 23 DV (Dami's version...lol)
1. If I let God lead me I will have all that I need.
2. True rest can only be found in God.
3. Strength can be renewed , just ask Jesus.
4. Tough times will come, but I won’t be scared because Jesus is next to me to protect and tell me everything will be alright.
5. I live in abundance because you are my sufficiency.
6. Without any doubt God’s blessings will abide with me always as long as I am in God’s presence.
The moral of this blog post: Sometimes the solution to a problem can be really simple. To the glory of God the issue has been sorted out.
Question of the day:What is your favorite chapter of the Bible?
Until next time, remember, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
